Benefits of Student Association Membership
Students are encouraged to contribute $60 to receive full membership into the HSML Student Association. The contribution helps offset the costs of food, travel, events, and the annual resume book.
Benefits of full membership within the HSML Student Association include:
- Receive one-on-one student and alumni mentoring
- Participate in mock interviews and resume critiques with GW alumni
- Resume included in annual resume book at no additional cost
- Entrance into all SA events and general body meetings
- Opportunity to be apart of an ad-hoc committee on the SA Board
- Community service opportunities
SA members will participate in a variety of professional development and social events throughout the academic year. Some of these events include:
Executive in Residence (EIR)
GW HSML alumni return to the GW campus to spend half a day with students. The EIR shares personal experiences as a health care professional and leader, and often conducts mock interviews and resume critiques.
Site Visits
SA members take half day field trips to local health care organizations, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and ambulatory surgery centers.
Social and Networking Events
Social and Networking events include Happy Hours, cookouts and picnics, intramural activities, kickball tournaments, etiquette dinners and participation in local networking events to name a few.
