Research Scientist Jessica Leibler spoke about the occupational health hazards of industrial food animal production systems at the "State of the Plate DC" conference (view a video of the event). Dr. Leibler's research includes an investigation of risk factors for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) among meatpacking workers. Her expertise includes the epidemiology of foodborne-illness outbreaks, such as the E. coli outbreak traced to German bean sprouts.
