Tuition & Fees

The School of Public Health & Health Services strives to make a graduate education in public health accessible for all students. We charge tuition on a per-credit basis, allowing students the flexibility to enroll in three to nine credits per semester, based on their current financial, professional, and personal capabilities.

The current rate of tuition for the 2012 Academic Year is $1206 per credit hour. Please see your program description for the exact credit requirement for your degree of interest. For example, the MPH program requires 45 credits of coursework, totaling $54,270 in tuition dollars for the degree.

Students enrolled in a stand-alone Graduate Certificate Program are charged a flat rate of $12,000 and do not pay per credit.

The office of Graduate Life estimates that the cost of living in the DC metro area is $18,060 for twelve months, including housing, food, and utilities for one person. Health insurance during that time is roughly $1485. Books and materials for a nine month academic year average $880.

All SPHHS students must have a laptop computer, with some required software offered through the University. Please contact us directly for more information on this requirement.

All costs listed here are estimates. The University anticipates graduate tuition rates and housing expenses to increase by 5-10% each year.
