Master of Public Health Students prepare to define, critically assess, and resolve public health problems. The MPH Core Course Competencies are designed to provide students with a broad public health context as well as a critical foundation for subsequent coursework. Each program culminates with a practicum experience - an opportunity for students to display their mastery of public health concepts in related field work. Students acquire a comprehensive understanding of the foundation sciences of public health (disease mechanisms, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, social and behavioral sciences, health policy, and health management) as well as in-depth training in one of the following program areas:
