U.S. News & World Report Graduate Schools guide, a popular resource for students pursuing graduate-level education, ranked The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services 16th in the nation in its annual rankings released today.
The ranking is an improvement from the school’s previous ranking of 19th. The school’s Master of Health Services Administration program rose from 26th to 21st in the category of health care management.
The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences rose in the rankings to 60th out of 146 schools of medicine nationwide. The Physician Assistant program, within the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, ranked 4th again on this year's list, and has been continually ranked in the top five over recent years.
Additionally, The George Washington University School of Nursing also moved up in the rankings to 50th out of 460 schools of nursing nationwide.
To develop this year’s rankings U.S. News analyzed more than 12,000 graduate programs. Rankings are based on expert opinions about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students.
The rankings are available online. Highlights will be published in U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 edition of the Best Graduate Schools book available on newsstands beginning April 5.
